Semana Santa, or Holy Week, is the most important religious festival in South America. The most famous observations of the religious event are the week long celebrations in Peru, Popayan, Colombia, Caracas, Venezuela and Ouro Preto, Brazil, plus Cuasimodo remembrances in Chile.
