New observatory in Chile's Elqui Valley

Inauguran en Chile nuevo centro para la observación del universo is Reuter's account, in Spanish, of the newest powerful telescope on mount Pachón in Chile's Elqui Valley. SOAR is a joint US/Brazilian project with Chilean scientists having access, joins existing Tololo and Gemini observatories.
Elqui, near Vicuña and Ovalle offers clear skies, soft breezes and litte rainfall and 300 days a year of clear vision into the universe.
