Saturday September 10, 2005
copihues Update: 09/12/2005:
Chilean Army says 1973 coup is a "closed matter" (MercoPress). Chilean Army Commander in chief General Juan Emilio Cheyre "has been a key figure in pushing the military to overcome their identification with the Pinochet past, clearly subordinating the Armed Forces to civilian rule and collaborating with the courts on a number of trials concerning the abuse of human rights during the 17 year long dictatorship."
Sept. 11 a Dark Day in Chile, Too : "the anniversary of Gen. Augusto Pinochet's bloody military coup. And as in the past, it finds Chileans not just sad, but angry. "
September 11 begins the week of Fiestas Patrias, culminating in the celebrations of Chile's Independence on September 18, the Dieciocho.

I am not quite sure if the celebrations start on the 11th of september. The day that Allende died in a bloody presidential coup. If you celebrated that day, I would go as far as to say that you have been hanging out with the wrong people….

yeah that was really good,
but when we celebrate on the 11th we do folk dance’s,
than we celebrate again on the 18 for chile’s indepence day.
whenn pinochet had died we were all celebrating because of what he did to the people along time ago. he had killed my grandfather than so he tryed to kill all the man or the man go to war.
