Tuesday April 4, 2006
Two Austrian tourists found dead in Bolivia after kidnap (Deutsche Presse-Agentur): "Two Austrian tourists missing since January in Bolivia have been found dead, apparently dumped by kidnappers who used the pair's cash and credit cards to raid their accounts, authorities said Tuesday. The bodies of Katharina Koller, 25, and Peter Kirsten Rabitsch, 28, were discovered Monday in an unmarked grave in the capital La Paz. They died of asphyxiation, prosecutor Sergio Cespedes said."

The disappearance of Katharina Koller and Peter Kirsten Rabitsch in Bolivia is attributed to a gang of fake police who take passports, credit cards and bank cards. Details in Scam: Fake Police and Kidnappings.

Our sympathy and condolences to their families and loved ones.

In Kidnapped Canadian boys found dead in Venezuela (TimesOnline): "Police say that the brothers were abducted on February 23 when unidentified men dressed as police stopped their car at a roadside checkpoint in Caracas as the boys were on their way to school.
