Portillo Open for Skiing with New Ski Lift

skier Enjoy the action at the World Cup while skiiing. Details: Ski Portillo, Chile, opens for 2006 with screens to watch World Cup (Natives.co.uk Ltd): "Portillo opened on last Saturday, June 17. Portillo has already received nearly six feet of snow and is looking at an excellent season. They already have a solid 2.5m base and their weather stat's sound pretty awesome. The resort receives nearly 300 days of sunshine and an average of 25 feet of snowfall each season, with last year’s snow totaling a record 46 feet.

In addition, this season, Portillo introduces a new ski lift. Laz Vizcachas, the new Va et Vient ski lift similar to Roca Jack and Condor, is 1,542 feet in length and has a vertical drop of 722 feet. This lift is located between the Las Lomas and Los Canarios lifts. With the addition of Las Vizcachas, Portillo now has 13 ski lifts which service 35 trails."
