Salar de Uyuni Photo Tour

Friday October 13, 2006
Salar de Uyuni The Salar de Uyuni in the southern altiplano of Bolivia is considered the world's largest salt pan. With a surface area of some 12,000 sq. km., the salar is an enormous, completely flat, blindingly white plain, baked dry by the sun.

Visitors make the several days tour across the salar on the way to and from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile and Uyuni, Bolivia.

Photo of the salar is displayed with the kind permission of Peter and Jackie Main.
