Riders on Devil's Nose Train Top 2 Japanese tourists die in train accident in Ecuador (Mainichi Daily News): "Two Japanese tourists died while riding on top of an excursion train in the Andes in central Ecuador after the train snagged a cable, causing a supporting post to hit them, tour officials said."

The tourists were part of a group excursion on the Devil's Nose, called the the "Most Difficult Train in the World", the train trip between Riobamba and Alausí is one of Ecuador's most famous attractions. The railroad was originally built to connect the Andes with the coast, and the route goes up and down steep slopes, along river valleys and has to negotiate a wall of rock called Nariz del Diablo, the Devil's Nose.

Our sympathies to the families and friends of the tourists, "a 71-year-old man from Hyogo Prefecture and a 59-year-old woman from Nagasaki Prefecture."

Sadly your photo is NOT of the Devil’s Nose Train, but is instead a bus version of the trip for less mobile tourists. We have a picture if you want it!
