Eco-tourism hope for Ecuador tribes (BBC News): "An indigenous tribe from one of the most remote parts of the Amazon rainforest is taking over a unique eco-tourism project as a way to protect their ancestral lands from oil extraction. "
The tribe is the Achuar who are expected to own the Kapawi Ecolodge by 2011.
The lodge is located in the Amazonian Rainforest Region of Ecuador. Photo of a long canoe, one of the forms of transportation in the Amazonian rainforest, thanks to ClipArt.com.
