XV Pan American Rio Games 2007 Comes to a Close

Brazil enjoys golden finish to record Panamerican Games (Guardain Unlimited): "Brazil celebrated a golden finish to the 15th Panamerican Games on Sunday topping the podium in three of the final four events to cap a record fortnight for the hosts."

Brazil came in third in the overall Medal count, after the USA and Cuba.

The closing ceremonies included awarding of medals, speeches, athlete appearances, huge applause, music, singing and videos as Rio de Janeiro congratulated itself on a successful Pan American games. With the success of the games, Rio hopes to be the site of the 2016 summer Olympics.

Now that the games and the ceremonies are over, Cariocas and visitors can relax at one of the Beaches of Rio de Janeiro.
