A Day in Quito

Thursday August 30, 2007
San Fracnsco In Peak hour in the Andes (The Sunday Times), the author presents a suggested itinerary for a day in Quito, including sightseeing, restaurants, nightlife and day trips to several places within an hour or two of Ecuador's capital, a World Heritage City.

"Since the 1970s oil boom, Quito has become a sophisticated city with high-rise offices, nightclubs, excellent restaurants and hotels and is the stopover for tours to the Galapagos Islands."

View of the plaza and the Iglesia de San Francisco, erected in the 16th century and named a UNESCO World Heritage Site 1978, thanks to UNESCO.
