When you travel in Argentina, you'll be savoring fine wines, beef and other traditional menu items of Argentine cuisine, but save room for the wildly popular alfajor; A sweet treat is a taste of Argentina (bostom.com): "In Argentina, the alfajor is a sort of national cookie. The cookies are found piled high in the gilt cases of Buenos Aires cafés, wrapped to go in plastic at the checkout counters of diners, tucked into lunchboxes. For Argentines, the alfajor has the essential, homemade comfort that the chocolate-chip cookie does for Americans."

Alfajores, a favorite South American pastry, are cookies filled with delicious caramel, dulce de leche, and rolled in coconut to make a buttery-rich cookie for an afternoon tea, a special dessert or an anytime snack.

The author describes the cookie, or biscuit, and shares a recipe for making them at home.

You can easily travel about the country, tasting regional delicacies, as Argentina has average cheaper domestic and regional air rates (Mercopress): "Argentina has the lowest domestic air rates in Latinamerica and the Caribbean according to the latest report from American Express Business Travel Monitor released this week. Argentina’s air rates are also among the cheapest in the 'inter-regional' and international flights to United States and Europe says the report which monitored rates during the first six months of this year."
