Visiting the Falklands/Islas Malvinas
'The Falklands is becoming an increasingly popular port of call, particularly as part of a wider South America or Antarctica voyage."
Check these tours and Set sail for the Falkland Islands (easier.com): "Visiting the Falklands via cruise ship or expedition vessel allows passengers unrivalled access to penguins, the rare black-browed albatross and elephant seals, among hundreds of other species that reside on the 770-plus islands that make up the Falklands archipelago."
Additional cruise options are detailed as Once In a Lifetime: Crystal Goes Extreme in Antarctica (Reuters) ; "In addition to Buenos Aires and Valparaiso, the cruise visits Montevideo, Uruguay; Puerto Madryn, Argentina; Port Stanley, Falkland Islands; Ushuaia,
Argentina; and Punta Arena and Puerto Montt, Chile. Cruise fares start $8,995 per person, double occupancy.
For terms and conditions and Crystal reservations, contact a travel agent, call 888-799-4625, or visit crystalcruises.com."
On a more somber note, Malvinas families trip to the Falklands “end of a long mourning period” (Mercopress):"The coming trip to the Falkland Islands for the official inauguration of the memorial at the Argentine cemetery in Darwin, 'somehow represents the end of a long mourning period', but at the same time 're-signifies the strong meaning that the Malvinas have for the Argentine people', said Cesar Trejo representative of the Malvinas Families Commission."
The reference of course is to the 1982 Falklands War, mentioned in the History of the Malvinas/islas Malvinas.
