Most of the better known ones are in Patagonia, but a visitor to many of the areas within the country is sure to find a regional national park.
The parks have an impressive variety of eco-environments, topography, flora and fauna, archaeological and palaeontologic importance and climates.
A number of parks are on UNESCO's World Heritage List for natural values. Enjoy these photos of many of the national parks.
Visitors enjoy fishing, trekking, rafting, horse-riding, mountain biking and photographic safaris and other recreational activities.
Most parks have camping areas, some with hot showers and toilet facilities, and/or basic shelters called refugios, meant for trekkers and climbers.
