- The bullfighting arena at the Plaza de Ancho in Rimac is the oldest in the Americas and busy during the bullfighting season in late October and November. Next to the ring, the Museo Taurino displays bullfighting exhibits from the sport, performed in the Spanish style, with the killing of the bull
- Soccer Stadium hosts local and international teams
- Monterrico Hippodrome races four times a week for national and international horses
- Golf on one of the fine courses around the city
Nearby attractions:
- The suburbs of Miraflores and San Isidro are upscale residential, dining, nightlife, business and shopping areas, but they also have two archaeological sites, Huallamarca and Pucllana, within their limits.
- Barranco maintains the look from many years ago, and is an artists enclave and boasts an array of taverns and restaurants
- The Green Coast is a row of beaches adjoining six districts, popular with swimmers, surfers, parasailers and handgliders. Miraflores coastline
- Villa Wetlands - Pantanos de Villa - is the only protected natural area left in Lima. The Villa wetlands are made up of sprawling totora reed clumps, pools and meadows which are irrigated by water seeping up from the Rimac River watershed. This reserve is a worthwhile birding spot to observe the hundreds of local and migratory species
- Parque Las Leyendas between Lima and Callao, this zoo showcases the flora and fauna of Peru's three regions: coast, mountains and Amazon basin
- Lomas de Lachay is a national reserve featuring a unique mist-fed eco-system of wild plant and animal species
- Enjoy adventure sports in the Lunahuaná Valley
- Paramonga, north of Lima, contains pre-Hispanic archaeological sites
