On Drake island, Rupert, Sandra and Christa agree that either Shawn on Jon must go, and give each two minutes to present their case for staying. They head to Tribal Council weary and dispirited. Jeff speaks to them about their feelings and Rupert speaks for them all when he says, "two days in a row, they shouldn't be in Tribal Council again." Jeff gives Jon and Shawn another chance to state their cases, but in the end, the Drake team votes Shawn off. Why not Jon?? Is it because he really does work harder than Shawn, as he says?
Morgan tribe discusses Osten's wish to leave, and Jeff says he's never had a contestant voluntarily lay down his torch before. He adds that people work hard to become a Survivor contestant, and polls the other Morgan members, who can't agree with Osten's reasoning but agree to vote him off. With an oral vote, Osten leaves the Morgan team, creating a first in Survivor history.
Jeff ends both Tribal Councils with encouraging words about the new members wanting back into the game, what they do next will determine the course of the game from here forward.
Both Drake and Morgan castaways leave Tribal Council uneasy and anxious. Maybe the returning castaways will elect to go to the team that didn't cast them off? Exact their revenge by helping the competitors?
The surprises aren't over yet!
This is the first of a two-part episode. We have to wait for next week to find out who the Outcasts will vote to send back to which team. Will they send an ex-Drake castaway back to the Drakes, and a Morgan back to the Morgans, or will they mix things up?
