Jet lag is caused by changes in climate, time zones and other factors. Here are some steps to help you minimize the effects and recover faster.

  1. Think ahead to your destination.
  2. Plan some down time into your schedule.
  3. Eat yogurt before you leave to build up friendly bacteria in your system.
  4. Travel at night if you can, and sleep during the flight.

  6. Do not drink alcohol during the flight.
  7. Do drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.
  8. Wear loose clothing and shoes during the flight.
  9. Move around during the flight.
  10. Spend time outdoors during the days after arrival.
  11. Adapt to local time for sleeping and eating.
  12. Take some familiar snack items with you to ease adjustment to local food.
  13. Herbal tea bags will help relax you for a good night's sleep.
