Laguna Colorada
Tucked into the southwest corner of Bolivia remote lakes are known by their colors, named for the high amounts of copper and sulfur in the ground.
Laguna Colorada, Red Lake, is home to the flamingo reserve where the rare James flamingos are protected. Nearby are a meteorological station and the geothermal geysers where the sulfur fumes overpower the area's clear air.
