Recife is the capital of Pernambuco and has a population
of 1,297,000. It is known as the Brazilian Venice for its many canals and waterways. Its buildings
are a mix of old and new, and the city is spread out over
nearby islands and peninsulas. Beautiful beaches are
found up and down its coast.
