Travelers begin their journey on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu by crossing the Urubamba river on this suspension bridge at Km 88 of the PanAmerican Highway. Note the stone work at the base of the bridge.

From here, the trail goes up steeply, an indication of the walk to come.
