Floating Islands of the Uros
Uros islanders live from fishing, handicrafts and tourism. Boat loads of visitors from Puno in Peru arrive daily to experience the odd sensation of walking on a floating island. If the reeds are rotting, a dip in the frigid waters of Lake Titicaca reminds the unwary walker that life on a floating island requires caution.
Children are at risk of falling through the reeds into the water and drowning, but these two don't seem concerned.
