Isla de Pescadores, Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

Fish Island in the middle of a salt flat? Strange, but true. This geographical feature is a highlight on the tour across Bolivia's giant salt plain, the Salar de Uyuni.

The Isla de Pescado in the shape of a fish, rises about 40 m from the sruface of the salar and boasts a dense collection of cactus, called the "forest." The cacti are slow growers, and some are over 30 ft high.

Take the photographic tour of the Salar de Uyuni in Andes and Altiplano Regions of Bolivia.
