Evita's Balcony at the Casa Rosada, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Photo of the Week - 07/29/2007

Even though Eva Duarte de Peron, best known as Evita, died in 1952, her memory lives on as people still come to gaze up at this balcony of the Casa Rosada, the presidential palace in Buenos Aires, where she used to address the huge crowds of descamisados, or shirtless ones, whose support gave her and her husband, Juan Peron, much of their political power.
For more information, read about the life and influence of Eva Peron.
