Puerto de Pisagua
Modern Puerto Pisagua has few inhabitants, and the old jail has become a hotel. The plaza boasts a monument to the fallen in the battle of 2-11 1877duiring the War of the Pacific, in which many Chilean soldiers climbed the steep hills, laden with equipment, to surprise a Peruvian post.
The architecture, seen in this administration building, in town retains the look of the profitable center it once was.
