Bosques Tamarugos
The Parque Natural del Tamarugo protects a forest of tamarugo trees that sustain themselves by absorbing moisture (what little there is) from the air and extensive root systems under ground. Replanted extensively by CORFO, the Chilean forestry service, the tamarugos have needle like thorny spines.
