Geography of Chile Quiz

Chile Question #10

You are correct!....

"The Coat of Arms dates from 1834 and was designed by the English artist Charles Wood. The shield is divided into two equal parts. The top part is blue and the bottom part is red. In the centre of the shield there is a five pointed silver star. The shield is supported from the right by a condor, a bird of prey from the Andes and from the left by a huemul, a quadruped from the deer family from the Chilean "cordillera" (Andes mountain range). On the heads of both animals is placed the navy's golden crown, symbol of the heroic deeds of the Chilean navy in the Pacific Ocean. The shield is crowned by a three feathered crest the colours of which, from left to right, are: blue, white and red."
