VARIG BRAZILIAN AIRLINES LAUNCHES TOUR OPERATION TO BRAZIL
Varig Travel Vacations To Offer Packages To South America's Most Exciting Destinations
MIAMI, FL -- Varig Brazilian Airlines, Latin America's largest airline carrier since 1927, is proud to announce the launch of its official tour operator, Varig Travel Vacations. For the North American traveler in particular, Varig Travel Vacations offers a convenient, high value approach to the exploration of South America's most exciting and exotic destinations.
Varig Travel Vacations' air-inclusive tour packages encompass all the major cities and regions of Brazil, from Rio de Janeiro to Ceara, as well as Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, starting as low as $692. In addition to air travel on Varig from Miami, New York or Los Angeles, the packages include a choice of accommodations, sightseeing and other activities and a wide range of optional tours and cruises. The programs range from seven to eleven days, or, for the more independent-minded traveler, there is the "Brazil A la Carte" option, providing short, two-day stays in a choice of cities that may be combined to create a customized trip.
Varig Travel Vacations has established a dedicated toll free number, (800) 352-9188, for information and reservations. In addition, packages can be booked on Varig Travel Vacation's interactive website at www.varigtravelvacations.com. Built to facilitate and accelerate the booking process, the site features a Remote Reservations Module (RRM), allowing travel agents to make real time reservations online. Agents will receive between 11-14 percent commission, depending on sales volume, and an additional two percent commission on all sales when booking online through the RRM system.
Included in the Varig Travel Vacations portfolio this year is a seven-day "Rio de Janeiro: The 500th Anniversary Celebration" tour that includes the major highlights of South America's liveliest, most cosmopolitan city. There is also a seven-day package featuring Salvador da Bahia, the birthplace of Brazil and a vacation in the province of Ceara, rapidly becoming the trendiest beach resort and outdoor recreation destination for Americans "in the know." The nine-day "Brazilian Heritage" program focuses on the country's unique Afro-Brazilian culture and combines Bahia and Rio.
Other Varig Travel Vacations programs include "Ecological Wonders," featuring the Amazon, the fascinating city of Manaus, the Caiman Ecological Refuges in Pantanal and the spectacular waterfalls of Foz do Iguacu. Optional tours include an Amazon cruise and stays in Amazon jungle lodges.
For travelers seeking a taste of Argentina as well as Brazil, Varig Travel Vacations' "South American Jewels" combines Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires and many other attractions, such as Recife, Salvador da Bahia, Belo Horizonte and Ouro Preto. There is also an 11-day program that includes three of South America's greatest cities: Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Argentina's Buenos Aires, and Santiago, the charming capital of Chile.
Established in 1927, Varig Brazilian Airlines has offered extensive service to Brazil from the United States for nearly fifty years. Flying a modern fleet of jetliners, the airline has been named the best in Latin America by OAG magazine and has an outstanding reputation for passenger service, comfort and safety. The largest carrier in Latin America, Varig transports almost 10 million passengers a year to and from 19 countries on four continents, including 37 flights weekly from the United States.
