Bolivia altiplano salar de uyuni hostel

View of the Salar de Uyuni from a hostel

Overnight accommodations are far from luxurious. Even with a bed in a hostel, you'll be glad of your warm sleeping bag. Once the sun goes down, the high thin air of the altiplano holds no heat.

Though the residents, or campesinos of these tiny settlements are used to tourists, their lives are still very traditional. You'll be served the usual meal of meat and rice.

The tour through the Salar de Uyuni provides ample space, quiet and time for reflection while pondering the views.
