The wind is a constant in the alitplano, and in addition to making sand and water ripple, it carves rock into weirdly shaped formations like these.

One of the most photographed rocks is the one known as the Stone Tree, or Arbol de Piedra.

Seen as background, the altiplano stretches into Colored Hills.
