Option 1: Lejia Lagoon to Lascar and San Pedro De Atacama
Short drive to reach tLascar Pass for a full day on Lascar volcano (5400 m). After you leave your vehicle at the 4700 m level, it will take you about four hours to climb to the peak. This climb requires physical fitness and prior acclimatization to the altitude. From the top you'll enjoy thinner air and a panoramic view of the Atacama Desert. After the descent, you'll drive back San Pedro de Atacama. Hotel overnight for departure the next morning to Calama and the airport to continue your travels.Option 2: Return to Calama for a tour of Chuquicamata
The mine at Chuquicamata is the largest open pit mine in the world. It has consumed most of the town, obliterating houses, buildings and a modern hospital, forcing residents to move to Calama and commute to work in the mine, smelter and other operations. Tours must be arranged with CODELCO.Depart from Calama.
