Located an hour and a half by car from Santiago, Isla Negra is on the bus route from the capital to the coastal cities of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, between the villages of El Quisco and El Tabo. It's an easy self-tour, or there are tours from the city, such as this day trip.

You can also request a guided tour through the Fundacion Pablo Neruda by making reservations in advance to see the house that Neruda built to resemble a ship with low ceilings, wood floors and narrow passageways linking many of the rooms.
