Stretching 20 hectares from Cuenca Street at the southern edge to Barrio las Peñas at the norther edge, the waterfront esplanade of Malecon 2000 offers a fantastic stroll along the waterfront of the Guayas River.
Monuments such as La Rotonda, museums, gardens, fountains, shopping malls, restaurants, bars, an IMAX theater, as well as docks and viewpoints entice the visitor to explore.
There is another smaller explanade, the Malecon El Salado.
