Seen from space, the Quebrada de los Choros cuts across the land from the mountains to the sea. At the ocean's edge, Caleta Chungungo and Caleta Los Choros are hidden beneath the clouds.
The climate in this area is a blend of the arid desert of the Norte Grande, the Atacama, as it merges into the fertile regions of Norte Chico, where inland from the coast, the Elqui Valley and observatories benefit from the Mediterranean climate and clear air.
Nuestra primera parada fue en el Club de Golf de La Serena, a unos diez kilómetros al norte de la ciudad. Es un lugar bellísimo donde se está construyendo un conjunto habitacional de los más lujosos de Chile. Se puede visitar la casa club para tomar un café para luego salir a pasear por las dunas hasta llegar a la playa donde el mar rompe con una fuerza increíble.
