Chimbote is the largest city in the Ancash Region of Peru. It is also the capital of the Santa Province and the Chimbote District. The city is located on the coast in Chimbote Bay, south of Trujillo and 422 kilometers north of Lima.

Peru's most important northern city, Trujulli "is summed up each year during the floral Spring Festival. Huanchaco Beach is a great spot for surfers, and Piura is best known for its folk dance, the tondero, and the black magic practiced by the descendents of black slaves."
