There are three towers above the battlements, but all that remains are the foundations. Used for observation, military and/or religious purposes, the towers must have been watch posts, but no amount of forewarning saved the Incas.
Imagine what a battle it must have been. Spaniards in their armor, mounted on their horses, dashing across the flat ground, destroying the Inca's force that dared rebel against the conquistadores.
