"The riding on the Estancia Huechahue provides glorious views of the vast grasslands. You ride through barren rolling hills and along the narrow rocky gorges of the Andean streams, to the tops of the hills where the mighty Andes rise up behind you and the vastness of Patagonia stretches out before you, whilst eagles and condors fly beside you."
"Overlooking a forest of Oregon pine, a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, and the north face of Mount Chapelco, this gable-roofed property may be set amid the untamed Patagonian wilderness, but there's nothing untamed about the hotel. Situated in a 560-acre gated community, it attracts those more interested in smart decor and safety than full immersion in Patagonian culture." Conde Nast review
It is the main tourist centre of the province. Its origins go back to 1883, when a fort was set up in the Vega Maipú. Today it is an active community with 18.000 inhabitants.
