The last episode ended with the former La Mina section of the Gitanos tribe down to two, Terry Deitz and Sally Schumann , after Austin Carty was voted off in Tribal Council. Terry had been politicking to sway Danielle DiLorenzo and Bruce Kanegai to side with the La Mina-ers but the former Casaya-ites held firm to their alliance.
With Austin, and whoever else is voted off in subsequent Tribal Councils, now on the jury, how will he vote when the time comes?
Episode 10 begins on a sunny Day 24 with eight Castaways left in the game. Terry regales the men with tales of his military experiences while Cirie, Courtney and Danielle rest in the shelter. Danielle says she wants Terry, Sally and then Aras gone. She's not sure that Terry has the Hidden Idol, even though he offered it to her if she would join his alliance and bring Bruce with her. During the nature shots, we see a howler monkey with a baby on its back, snakes, and an owl monkey. We also see a manta ray and a sea turtle. More about sea turtles on page 2.
At the Reward Challenge, the tribe members get a preview of their reward: videos from their familes to watch along with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cold milk, and one of their luxury items. The team of Danielle, Cirei, Shane and Aras compete against Courtney, Sally, Terry and Bruce who win the Reward. The winning team sends Aras to Exile Island for two days. When they return to camp after having seen their videos, eaten their Reward, they display thier luxuriy items:
Danielle and Cirie display their envy and resentment.
Aras is fortunate to have good weather. He easily makes fire and sets out to search for the Hidden Idol, but gives up soon, convinced taht someone else has already found it.
In camp, Shane consults Cirie, the nurse, on a rash caused by wet clothes, heat and humidity. The women giggle at Shane's discomfort as he wraps a cloth around his waist and calls it his chafing skirt.
Aras returns from Exile Island for the Immunity Challenge, which is a play or eat game. Those who feel comfortable not playing for Immunity can opt to watch the others play while they devour a cheeseburger, fries and a soda as fast as they can before someone wins Immunity.
Bruce, Cirie, Danielle, Shane and Courtney choose to watch Aras, Sally and Terry compete. Terry wins easily, and is once again safe from Tribal Council.
On their returmn to camp, the tribe immediately discusses strategy, the Hidden Idol and who goes home next. Courtney operforma s fire dance, but Terry and Sally attempt to break through the hard shell of the other's strong alliance, but it is not enough to break the bond. Sally is voted out, becoming the second member of the jury.
