Meanwhile, Federico returns to Cindy and Steph, shares a drink and tells them tale after tale of the Mayans. After he leaves, the two women go to their shelter, where mosquito netting drapes two hammocks and candles provide a soft light as they talk strategy. They agree to vote out Danni as the biggest threat and will see how Rafe feels about it. Steph says of him, "He's a smart kid. He'll be fine with it."
On their return to camp early the next morning, Cindy is still bubbling over with happiness about her new car and doesn't stop talking about it. She seems not to notice that the others aren't pleased to hear about it. Rafe notes that no one is listening to her and her chatter is "grating on people."
Steph and Rafe talk. He says he would have given up a car for votes. Steph didn't agree and they have their first disagreement in the game. Rafe wonders if he's been too altruistic in playing the game and should he now play harder?
The Immunity Challenge arrives and Danni gives up the Immunity necklace. Jeff explains the rules. Each player is shackled hand and foot to a long rope wound around poles with locks. They must first find the right key to unlock their hand shackles, proceed to the next pole, unlock that and unwind rope, then the next and on to the last where they will unshackle their feet. They will get tangled up ans they unwind themselves, but the one who unwinds enough rope to run to the finish line and hoist their own flag will win immunity and a guaranteed spot in the Final Four.
Steph takes an early lead, followed by Rafe and Cindy. Danni and Lydia have trouble with their first lock. Steph falls behind at the third lock while the others make up some time, but she surges ahead and finishes the fourth lock ahead of the others. She unwinds her rope and dashes to the finish line, but she hasn't got enough rope to reach it. She goes back to undo knots and pay out more rope, but it still isn't enough. She goes back again, and this time, with Cindy not far behind her, she loosens enough rope to get to the finish line and hoist her flag. Steph's won her first individual Immunity Challenge!
She exulting, sasying it's an amazing feeling, expecially since she didn't think she'd get past the first Tribal Council. The others congratulate her on her win. Rafe talks with Danni, cementing their friendship and promising not to vote for each other. Danni says she'll take him to the Final Two. They agree to vote out Cindy, but when Rafe tries to convince Steph to do the same, Steph isn't sure. She's concerned with Cindy's reaction if she's on the Final Jury.
Steph tells Cindy about Rafe and Danni's plans and Cindy counters with a plan to oust Rafe, making it all girls who go to the Final Four. Next they'll vote out Danni.
At the Tribal Council, when Jeff questions the group about their mood following Cindy's decision, Rafe admits that everyone is threatened, feeling paranoid or wondering if they should stick to their plans. Danni says she's always worried.
Cindy defends her decision, saying she's happy with it, adding the "car curse" is silly, and she's a strong competitor. She adds that Rafe is a "complete pacakge" of a strong competitor and a likeable person.
During the vote, Rafe votes for Cindy, as she does for him, but when Jeff tallies the votes, with a 4-1 vote against her, Cindy is the 14th person voted out. The "car curse" claimed another victim!
In the Family Moment, Cindy's sister sends praise and encouragement to enjoy the experience. Cindy says farewell, saying she'll miss the sounds of the jungle. "Nature's orchestra" will stay with her the rest of her life.
Jeff cautions the remaining four that the next three days will be tough, with three challenges, two Tribal Councils and one Sole Survivor.
Next and Final Episode:
Will it be Rafe, the "mistake-free" player, determined Danni, Lydia the underdog, or Steph, the "loser turned favorite?"
