Surprise Enemy Visit

By Bonnie Hamre, About.com

Episode 6 ended with the surprise doube Tribal Council when both tribes had to vote off a member, even when one had won the Immunity Challenge.

At the Nakúm Tribal Council. held first, Judd , still feeling the effects of celebrating the Reward Challenge win with beer, is increasingly rude and overbearing. He interrupts the others, inclduing host jefft Probst and makes no secret of his dislike for Margaret who dislikes him as intensely. After a bout of insults and crude remarks, the tribe votes and Margaret is voted out 4-1. Will this get rid of the "bad apple" and let the tribe get along?

At the following Yaxhá Tribal Council, the players are concerned at having to vote someone out, but the mood is not confrontational. In fact, it's buddy-buddy with Bobby-Jon and Brandon tossing out compliments to Amy and Brian before turning on Brian and voting him out 5-1. A stunned Brian leaves the council, another victim of the Survivor 11 Names with "B" - Beware! "curse."

In this episode, Rafe returns to camp after witnessing the comments and actions of the Nakúm-ians. Will what he reports have a bearing on what the Yaxhá-ites do next? one tribe visits another with less than friendly results. Rumor has it that there is another big shakeup in this episode? Could it be the tribal merge? There are 11 players left, but this game is full of surprises!

What happens now?

Episode 7 begins on Night 16, when Nakúm-ians return to camp and discuss the Tribal Council. Judd explains his actions, still insulting Margaret who was "mom" to her old tribe, but not here. he goes on to call himself a "big teddy bear."

Jamie says Judd is a big guy with a big voice, but he isn't intimidated by him. He thinks maybe he could take Judd to the finals, and then everybody would vote for himself.

At the Yaxhá camp, Bobby-Jon peels off his shirt to reveal the deep scrape he got during the ball game. Brandon and Amy also have scrapes, but not as bad as Bobby-Jon's.

At the Reward Challenge, the tribes are overjoyed to hear that the winners will get a chocolate feast, in honor of the Mayas who discovered chocolate. The challenge requires team work and dexterity as it involves the players to wrap themselves one by one, by team, in a long coil, and then when four members are completely wrapped, to unwrap themselves and run to the finish line. The activity will require coordination and balance. One member from each tribe will act as "winder" to assist however needed. As Nakúm has an extra tribe member, Judd will sit out. Jamie will act as the Nakúmian winder, and Amy will do the same for Yaxhá. They run to the first pole, and the game is on.

Yaxhá takes an early lead as Brandon and Gary , and the Bobby-Jon get wrapped before Stephenie and Lydia can get themselves organized. However, Nakúm pulls ahead but loses the lead when Jamie gets wrapped in and the team loses their balance. Yaxhá gains the lead and keeps it, winning the reward. Danni sports a huge smile.

Along with chocolate, the winning team will get a zipline cable ride over the rainforest canopy. The Yaxhá-ites head off immediately for their reward. As Amy climbs to the high platform, on her sore ankle, she admits she's scared of heights. She's the first one off and as she tensely flies through the air, she admits it's an unbelievable, once in a lifetime experience. As the howler monkeys look on and howl, the other tribe members take their turns. Bobby-Jon pronounces it "majestic" and Brandon thinks it "so cool."

The chocolate fest is huge. Cake, cookies, fresh cold milk, strawberries and cherries disappear as the group "pigs out," so much so that they are in danger of getting sick. They take the remains back to camp with them. Since it is Danni's birthday, she suggests they invite the Nakúm tribe over for a swim in their crocodile-free pool and a taste of chocolate. Accordingly, the tribe rows over to the other camp to extend the invitation.

In the Nakúm camp, Rafe has gathered leaves, painted designs on them and is using them as cards. When they hear shouts from the Yaxhá tribe, both Jamie and Cindy express reservations, but the others go see what Yaxhá wants. Jamie says accepting the invitation from the "enemy" is not a good idea, and Cindy doesn't want to go, but they both get in the canoe and help row. Gary is cncerned that Bobby-Jon and Jamei will get into it again, but Bobby-Jon reassures him that he is more mature than that.

Once at the pool, and thrilled to be offered some chocolate, the others relax, but Jamie won't go in the ppol. Instead, he sits and watches everybody, concerned that Steph might be getting too friendly. Too soon for the others, he insists they return to camp, citing they have chores to do. The others exchange hugs, and Steph reveals that she isn't happy with Jamie's manouever and they may have a clash.
