The hallways of the restored Casa de Independencia display relics of the colonial time and items of historical importance.
The property fell into disuse and disrepair and much of the original building was demolished in 1903. However, architect Mario Buschiazzo rebuilt the structure in 1943 based on documents and photographs taken before the demolition.
