From the Plaza Bolivar, enter into the Consejo Municipal de Caracas, also called Palacio Municipal, and the Jardin de Caracas, maintained in the tropical style of the 19th century. The Acta de la Independencia de Venezuela was signed here in 1811 in the Capilla de Santa Rosalia.
Within the Consejo, the Mueso de Caracas displays models of the city; the Museo Criollo Raul Santana's mannequins reproduce typical scenes of daily Venezuelan life; the Museo Emilio Boggio displays paintings and objects belonging to the artist, Sala de Arqueologia Gaspar Marcano holds items of archaeological interest, and the Sala de Documentos Historicos, displays historic documents.
